From humble beginnings...
Chicago Hip-Hop Initiative was born in 2003, out of the union of Chicago Urban Mines, Headz Up, and Chicago Hip-Hop Heritage Month. Urban Mines, which stands for Urban Music Industry Networking & Entertainment Socials, is a network of artists, producers, poets, musicians, DJs, and other Chicago-based urban music makers. Headz Up is a political awareness and community-oriented organization, whose focus is rebuilding the community.
